San Andreas Multiplayer
San Andreas Multiplayer (SA-MP) is the continued project of the popular mod Vice City Multiplayer (VC-MP) 0.1d. The difference between the two is that SA-MP has server-side scripting is available to make game modes. Pawn scripting is easily understandable with all the available help on the forums and open source game modes. As you may have noticed, if you're familiar with the GTA modding scene, most of these guys are fore-fathers of modding and to have them is such a great achievement itself.

WWE Raw
Superb graphics and realistic action aren't enough to make up for a very stingy demo in this head-to-head fighting game. WWE Raw only allows a one-on-one fight with two set players in this 60MB wrestling demo, a limitation that cooled our enthusiasm significantly for what is otherwise a graphically stunning game. The game's animation all around is top notch, with impressive cut screens that at the beginning of each round introduce each player. The video sequence at the beginning of WWE Raw knocked our socks off! Sound effects, with each punch or throw, are very realistic. Yet we were frustrated with the game's poorly designed interface. Unnecessary animation takes up too much memory and slows down browsing the game menu. What's more, the whole menu doesn't even fit on the screen, requiring you to scroll down to read more. We weren't able to find the "exit" command for some time before we realized we had to scroll to locate it. Legal information and disclaimers linger at the start of the game for what seems an eternity, too. There's far too much fanfare and unnecessary cut screen details before you even get into the ring. Overall, WWE Raw is a classic, enjoyable game for big fans of wrestling, yet a limited demo and some design flaws may test the patience of some.

Age of Empires
Kind of a mix of Civilization 2 and Warcraft II, Age of Empires is a real-time strategy classic that has in turn spawned countless imitators. If you've ever played any title from the Age series, you'll feel right at home gathering the troops, gathering natural resources, and building structures. The game's graphics and sound are a bit rough by today's standards, but the challenging gameplay and classic control definitely stand the test of time. Although only one campaign comes with the demo, it's split up into several scenarios that can take hours to get through. If you're any kind of real-time strategy fan, this should have a mandatory spot in your download library.

Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings
Combining the features of hit games Dune II and Civilization, this strategy adventure proves to be one of the more challenging and graphically advanced we've seen in some time. We were floored by the program's highly detailed graphics, based on an isometric, two-dimensional design, which presents a world of medieval warfare in which you can practically feel the gritty action. Even when compared to more contemporary graphics, the game's soldiers and weapons, the program environment, and especially the interface elements will satisfy players. The interface is user-friendly and features plenty of options, including a great control system. Each of the 13 nations involved in Age of Empires II has its own strategic advantages over the others, and most units are put together on a "ro-sham-bo" strategy. The game includes historical scenarios as well as "skirmish" modes and multiplayer options. The game's choice of music adds an appropriate tension to the gameplay, and in a nice touch, the warriors of different nations speak in their native languages. Overall, we can't wait to get our battle gear on again. Any fan of historic action games who hasn't yet experienced Age of Empires should be sure to at least download this demo version.
Plants vs. Zombies
We have yet to meet a game from PopCap that we didn't like, and Plants vs. Zombies is no exception. The premise doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but we don't care; like most other games from this publisher, it's addictively fun.
Icy Tower
Super Mario 3: Mario Forever
Hearkening back to the heyday of Nintendo, this game faithfully reproduces the classic Super Mario Bros. Although Mario Forever's graphics and sound aren't identical to those of the original, they're so close most users familiar with the game won't be able to differentiate.
